Who Impressed at the Freestyle/Greco State Tournament?

There were so many great matches and impressive performances this past weekend. These are a few that stood out to us!

Ethan Halstead

The young Darkhorse wrestler won the 14u 110 weight class beating other young studs in Ben Ellison and Adam Walker.

Eli Taylor

the kid is super impressive, and I am excited to see him on the 14u national duals team.

Danny McDermott

Won a bracket that included Carson Raper and state champ, Aiden Burkholder.

Luke Richards

Beat state champion Liam Myles to win his bracket.

Lucas Restrepo

Won a bracket over a very tough Tyler Fleckinger and was dominate in doing so.

Landon Logan

Logan took out Jekai Sedgwick to win the 16u 126 bracket.

Ayden Sumners

Sumners beat Aiden White in the battle of Aidans (and state champions) and took the crown for the 16u 132 division.

Ammon Scott

He has jumped a ton of levels since the state tournament and is going to be absolutely unreal the next few years. He won the 16u 144 title in a bracket with Jake Amiott.

Aaron Ellison

The kid continues to improve. He won the 16u 150 title with wins over Jacob Perry, Vincent Grack and Aiden Campbell.

Campbell Tufts

One of the most improved wrestlers over the past couple months. Campbell won the 16u 157 title with a win over state runner-up Hayden Smith.

Mason Hollar

5. Enough said.

Ryan Thompson

At NC Mat, we love this kid. He won the 16u 175 title over Drew Teeter and Brieon Mayfield.

Brianna Palmer

Watch out NC. Another Palmer is here. She had a win this weekend over Mia Pardo.

Adriana Miller

She is improving each time out and this time won the 16u 115 crown.

Denzel Benton

Beating Sam Boltes in the final was eye opening.

Holt Quincy

Holt quietly goes about his business beating really good wrestlers. This time he beat two-time state champ Trevelian Hall to win the Junior 120 title.

The Junior 132 Bracket

Cayden Glass, Tye Johnson, Tiaj Thao, Bryce Perry, Kyle Simpson and Garrison Raper put on a show, and we were all just lucky to witness it.

Tyton Kostoff

Looked incredible on the way to the Junior 144 crown.

Jackson Rowling

He wins a triple crown in style with a great Junior 157 bracket that featured Elijah Oakley and Carson Worrick.

Keyshon Morrison

Woah. This kid looked the part and seemed like he was ready to make another leap in route to the 215 Junior title.

Damien Couture

I saw him hit one of the nicest single legs that a 285 has ever hit. Dude is fast.

Katie Simmons

Won a bracket with Sara Warren and Sofia Ortiz in it.

Jiselle Riley

I am putting respect on her name. She was impressive in route to the title.

Faith Bane

She continues to compete everywhere and use her snap, go behinds to beat almost everyone.

The Greco Crew

It isn't easy to show up on day 2 and wrestle Greco but we saw quite a few of our kids show up and do just that!
