The original version of NCMAT dates to the 1994-1995 season, and  was run by Sara Koenig and Dave Barker. Until 2010 NCMAT was the source for the NC Wrestling Community to see rankings, results and all other online wrestling related content. 

In 2017, NCMAT was resurrected as The NCMAT by Maurice Atwood and once again became a go-to for all content relating to NC Wrestling. 

In 2025, Rhett and Ryan, took over NCMAT. Rhett and Ryan at the time were the hosts of the NC Wrestling Podcast Carolina Takedown Talk. After taking over NCMAT Rhett and Ryan completely rebranded Carolina Takedown Talk into NCMAT and combined the two content hubs to now include podcasts, rankings, videos, and more. The NCMAT is the Home of North Carolina Wrestling.
